Saudi Arabia has identified eight high-level investment opportunities for investors at 41.25 billion riyals ($ 11 billion) in the water desalination and sanitation sector, which will attract local and international businessmen to invest in the sector.

AlEqtisadiah stated that Saudi Arabia has identified five desalination plants and three others in the field of sewage treatment, as it will provide support to these investment opportunities in the field of promotion and awareness of this sector.

According to this information, those interested in providing investment opportunities for these sectors have been working on the issuance of bid forms in batches since the beginning of this year.

Last week, the Cabinet accepted the approval of the project of sewage treatment plant west of Dammam to investors with a design capacity of 350 thousand cubic meters per day.

In a related context, the National Water Company said in a statement yesterday that the water distribution sector succeeded as a representative of the National Water Company to complete the implementation of three important sanitation projects within the circle of stumbling in the city of Yanbu and in the area of Medina, which are costing more than 358 million riyals.

The sector announced that these projects aim to serve about 6 thousand drugs for customers.

This indicates that it included the implementation of three pumping stations and two lifting stations, and the implementation of more than 87 kilometers longitudinal lines of expulsion, as well as the rehabilitation of the main pumping station and the start of the implementation of 1250 access to household sanitation.

This is in line with the sector strategy to overcome all obstacles to the implementation of projects as a result of associated services, or special arrangements with various government agencies, in addition to the density of the site services and nature of the project.

It also aims to expand the water supply sector through the periodic review of the functioning of all sewage projects in the regions in order to increase the coverage of services and to find sustainable solutions to cope with urban growth through the construction of urgent and critical sewage networks in Yanbu and linking them to the treatment plant in Yanbu, with improved operation and distribution, implementation of major pumping stations, drainage lines and sewerage networks in accordance with the national transformation program initiatives in line with the Kingdom's vision for the future.
